My biggest concern for outsourcing e-commerce would be lack of control. Most people outsource because it is less expensive then hiring internal employees who only work for you. Although outsourcing may be easier, it can lead to not creating and providing what you intend. As long as you find a reliable company that allows and encourages your input, I think it is a great idea.

Yes you are absolutely right. You have to really work in partnership with the company you use to outsource. You need to do all you can to create a seamless appearance to your customer.
